Nestory is a household inventory app that helps you track what you have at home and what to buy next. This policy explains what we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. Nestory is operated by EM Labs (“Nestory”, “we”, “us”).

Information we collect

  • Account information — your name, email address, and a securely hashed password.
  • Household & inventory content — the items, storage locations, quantities, expiry dates, shopping lists, and any item photos you add.
  • Receipt Scanner data — when you use receipt scanning, the receipt photo you capture is sent to our receipt-processing provider to read the store, date, total, and line items. The image is used only to extract that information and is not stored by Nestory after processing.
  • Purchases — if you buy a subscription or a scan-credit bundle, the purchase is processed by the App Store. We receive your purchase and entitlement status (for example, that you have an active plan or added scan credits), but not your payment card details.
  • Basic technical data — a secure session cookie to keep you signed in, and standard server logs needed to operate the service. Nestory does not use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking.

How we use your information

  • Provide and sync your household inventory across your devices and members.
  • Read the receipts you choose to scan and add the items to your inventory.
  • Manage your plan and your scan-credit balance.
  • Respond to your support requests.
  • Keep the service secure and comply with legal obligations.

Service providers

We share data only with providers that help us operate Nestory, under agreements that limit how they may use it:

  • Receipt processing — OpenAI, L.L.C., to extract text from receipts you scan. Images are processed transiently and are not used to train models.
  • Hosting & database — Vercel and Neon, to run the app and store your inventory.
  • Purchases & subscription management — Apple (App Store) and RevenueCat, to process purchases and track entitlements.

We do not sell your personal information.

Data retention & account deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time from Settings → Account in the app. Deleting your account removes your profile and personal data: households you solely own are deleted, and households shared with others are transferred to another member or have your name removed, exactly as described in the app before you confirm. Some pseudonymized billing and webhook records may be retained for legal, audit, and anti-duplicate-processing purposes; these are not linked to your other account data. Deleting your Nestory account does not cancel an App Store or Google Play subscription — manage or cancel that in your store account settings.

Your choices

  • Access and update your account details in the app.
  • Export your inventory as CSV or PDF where included in your plan.
  • Delete your account and personal data at any time.

Children

Nestory is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored only as secure hashes, and access is scoped to your household.
